The Crozon peninsula in stand up paddle

The Crozon Morgat peninsula is ideal for Stand Up Paddle and kayak rides. The surf school will take you on routes protected by winds and swells. You will then discover beaches with fine sand and cliffs plunging into turquoise water which has nothing to envy to Corsica beaches. With Magnet Surf School you will then have the opportunity to visit the sights of Crozon Morgat and Camaret. You will visit the sea caves, the virgin island, the tips of Dinan and Pen Hir.

Magnet Surf School offers you different hikes: the sea caves, the virgin island, the tips of Dinan and Pen Hir.

Visiting the seals at the tip of Pen Hir in Camaret

The start of the walk to the tip of Pen-Hir is at Pen Had beach. This beach is a famous surf spot. For this reason SUP touring can only be done if the waves are not too big.

At the start of this walk, there are a few caves to visit. Then, the further you go, the higher the cliffs. It is not uncommon to observe climbers scaling the steep walls. It is a historical site of the Second World War. You will pass under the Cross of Lorraine as well as bunkers that once housed artillery aimed at the entrance to the harbour. At the tip of Pen-Hir, if there is not too much current, it is possible to venture to the pile of peas. In the distance, you will see La Pointe du Raz, Le Cap de la Chèvre and La Pointe Saint-Mathieu. This site is wild and difficult to access. This is the territory of seals, cormorants and gannets.

This hike is quite long and not suitable for beginners. It is a very beautiful walk that will remain etched in your memory.

A trip to the Altar cave in Morgat

From the northern part of Morgat beach, you will embark on the stand up paddle. Passing under the manor of Rulianec, you will reach Portzic beach. Sneaking between the rocky points, you will reach the cave of the Altar. This cave is the deepest in Douarnenez Bay. You will continue your journey at the foot of the cliffs at the tip of the menhir. Here nest the peregrine falcons and it is not rare to see them hunting there.

At the end of the hiking route, you will encounter a colony of cormorants. Be careful not to get too close as they are wild animals in their habitat. If you find litter on the beaches, this is an opportunity to bring it back on the boats.

Enjoy, it's a fairly short hike that does not require a very high level.

A hike at the foot of the menhir cliffs in Crozon

difficulte 1hike-postolonnec-stand-up-paddle-kayak-crozon-morgat

The start of this stand-up paddle hike is at Postolonnec beach. If you are lucky, at high tide you will only have about ten meters to carry the boats. After a few comfort exercises with the SUPs, let's go for the adventure!

The beginning of the hike is super fun. You will pass under arches and enter small creeks dug by the waves. You will observe quartzite stratification throughout the hike. If you still have energy left, you can go to the Altar Cave. On the way back it will be an opportunity to take a dip in order to refresh yourself!

It is a fairly easy route that will suit beginners as well as children.

Pass under the arch of the Château de Dinan on Goulien beach

difficulte 2hike-pointe-dinan-stand-up-paddle-kayak-crozon-morgat

Surf school parks in the parking lot at Goulien beach so that you can put your stand-up paddleboards in the water. After a few ease exercises, you will leave in the direction of the Château de Dinan. The route is sheltered from southerly winds. At the beginning of the hike you will observe a magnificent sea cave. After passing under an arch, you will reach a small cove where you can jump off the rocks into the turquoise water.

By slaloming between boats at anchor, you will reach a huge cave which will be offered to you. If the conditions allow it, you will go around the castle of Dinan passing under its arch. If you are lucky, the return will be easier if a thermal wind picks up.

This hike can sometimes be long for some, but nothing prevents us from turning back earlier.

Stroll on the Veryac'h beach towards the cliffs of Dinan cove.

difficulte 2hike-veryach-stand-up-paddle-kayak-crozon-morgat

From Veryac'h beach to Camaret, you will put the stand up paddle in the water. By following the cliff to the left of the beach, you can access small coves. From where you are, you can observe the tip of Dinan as well as the beach of La Palue. In the distance is the Cap de la Chèvre and if you are lucky the Pointe du Raz as well as the island of Sein.

This route is rather short because we are generally in a hurry to come back and eat a pancake at Mémé Germaine.

A hike from Camaret to the tip of Toulinguet

difficulte 2hike-camaret-stand-up-paddle-kayak-crozon-morgat

Leaving from Camaret beach, you will immediately turn left after a small rocky point. One creek, two creeks... and here you are in a small turquoise cove. Continuing your route you will follow the cliffs to the tip of Toulinguet. At the foot of the semaphore, you will observe in front of you the tip of Saint-Mathieu as well as the lighthouse of the minou which watches over the entrance to the harbour.

It's a long hike that can be cut short if you feel like your biceps aren't holding up anymore.

Visit the Ile Vierge in Stand Up Paddle in Morgat

difficulte 3hike-ile-vierge-stand-up-paddle-kayak-crozon-morgat

Departing from the port of Morgat, you will access the hiking route via Kador beach. When leaving, you must respect the signage when leaving through the channel. You must at all costs avoid crossing the area reserved for scuba diving. Passing to the left of the hare and the tortoise, you will enter one of the most popular walks on the Crozon Morgat peninsula. During this hike you can disembark on deserted creeks and sneak between rocks and arches. Several sea caves will be accessible if the swell and tide conditions are with you. You will arrive at the virgin island, however you will not be able to disembark on the beach because the regulations prohibit it.

Be careful, this hike is long, do not hesitate to turn back if you feel tired. You can regain your strength by drinking a Corref at the Relais du Pêcheur in the port of Morgat.

A hike in the Aulne Maritime: the cemetery of the boats.

difficulte 2hike-cimetiere-bateau-landevenec-sup-cayak-crozon-morgat

This walk is at the entrance to the Crozon peninsula. You will pass with the van and the trailer loaded with stand up paddle on the bridge of Térénez. You will take advantage of a small slipway to equip yourself and take the start of this hike. It is an atypical route that will delight the most curious among you. Indeed, the purpose of the maneuver is to observe the old navy boats that are anchored there.

Then you will continue your way along the forest of Landévennec. It's a special feeling to stand up paddle along a forest. If the tide is right, you can go see a mill.
This walk is often organized according to the wind but also the tide. It is easier to come back with the current when it helps us.
