Where to learn surfing?

To learn to surf you must first think about safety. You must combine the weather conditions of the day, the topography of the beach and its attendance.

Conditions conducive to learning are small waves. It is essential to respect your progression levels. As the emotion encompasses the surfing activity whatever your level, you must absolutely avoid scaring yourself. To do this, master the forecasts in order to compare them to your capacities. You must take surfing lessons in order to be guided in your learning or know how to surround yourself with responsible people.

The topography of the beach is very important in order to limit the risks. When you start surfing, the dangers specific to the different spots are not obvious to you. It is preferable to favor gently sloping sandy beaches as in Brittany. Even on sandy beaches, strong currents can surprise you. Always check with the locals and document yourself!

Taking surfing lessons is a good option because building up a sense of the sea without any help can be tedious.

Attendance on the body of water should be one of your concerns. Give preference to uncrowded beginner surf spots. Despite the image of this free sport, there are still priority rules to respect. These exist in order to avoid collisions on surf spots as much as possible. Often, surfers enter the water in the same place as the others. Do not hesitate to move away from the groups.

The more you progress, the more you will be able to analyze these situations. For rapid progress, choose surf lessons on suitable spots.
